SEMINARS

 “Working Clean” Blood Borne Pathogens Seminar


Taught by authorized OSHA outreach instructor, Jane Adler
This class includes but is not limited to basic BBP and how to
work as clean as possible in the daily operation of a traditional
and or cosmetic tattoo studio. This seminar covers many
topics and is a must for all professional artists and apprentices.
This class is a visual presentation with power point and lecture.
Class may last up to four (4) hours.

This seminar is a must for proof of annual BBP training as
required by federal law for all employees that work in the body
modification industry and many health departments in the U.S.
If a sole proprietor, you should still take annual training.

Registration cost is $100 per person, and will include handouts and a completion certificate good
for one year.

              “Everything but the Kitchen Sink”

Taught by custom tattoo artist and graphic designer, Mark Hartenberger, this seminar is designed
for tattoo artists looking to increase their talents in custom tattoo design. Participants can expect
to learn, through interactive and in-depth discussion, about color combinations, shading
techniques, and an intensive approach to custom tattoo design that can help them take their work
to a new level.

By using the steps explained in the
seminar, artists will improve their
custom artwork skills, increasing
the visual appeal of their tattoos.
This seminar is intended for any
tattoo artist that wants to expand
their understanding of color theory
and composition. Some computer
experience is recommended, but
not necessary.

Everything but the Kitchen Sink will
include a visual reference guide
and handouts that show several
examples of the topics discussed.
Attendees are encouraged to bring
their portfolios with them along with
any other material they would like
to discuss. Mark will be available
after the seminar for further
one-on-one discussion.

     "FREE PERMANENT COSMETIC SEMINARS"

There will be four separate permanent cosmetic seminars offered to attendees, free of charge.  
Below are the seminars, their presenters and the date and times they will be offered.  Attendance
is first come, first served and will be limited to the capacity of the room.

Seminar #1

This seminar will discuss the medications and contra-indications to be aware of before doing
body art, piercing or permanent makeup on a client.  The presentation will be truly enlightening
and can prevent a simple elective procedure from turning into a 911 call or lawsuit.

Presenter

                           
Dr. John Kercheval is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic
                           Board of Family Medicine.  He is a Fellow and member of many medical
                           associations including the Association of Military Surgeons of the United
                           States. He recently returned from Afghanistan where he spent 5 months
                           treating American troops and Afghani soldiers. He currently practices at the
                           Sun Life Family Health Center in Casa Grande.  
                          


                                        


His wife,
Dyanna Yost, has been a licensed aesthetician since 1987, has been
tattooing permanent makeup for 11 years and is a board certified Fellow and
Instructor with the American Academy of Micropigmentation.  Dyanna is invited
to speak at many conventions about successful business marketing, how to
present a powerful portfolio and ways to minimize touch ups.  She owns and
operates a post-secondary school for educating all aspects of cosmetic
tattooing, the Arizona Institute of Micropigmentation; her website is
www.makeup24-7.com. Besides doing procedures, she will have detailed
information on all classes from beginners to experienced tattoo artists.





Seminar #2

Bill Brickell will give an in-depth discussion of needles (point size, configurations, shaft size, core
grind width, needle penetration, slick vs. textural grinds).  He will present a revolutionary new
hand tool and discuss the coil, rotary and digital systems.  Bill’s presentations are always a
highlight so don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions of a needle expert.

Bill Brickell has many years of experience in all aspects of Body
                                     Modification.  He is fully licensed and Board Certified as an instructor
                                     of permanent cosmetics and holds a Master’s Degree in Makeup
                                     Application.  He has been piercing professionally for 29 years.  He
                                     has worked in London, Paris and New York. Bill owns and operates
                                     
The Cutting Edge Studio in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and works
                                     with his wife Beth and daughter Aaliyah creating one-of-a-kind
                                     exotic tattoo designs.  Bill will be doing permanent makeup
                                     procedures and piercing in the booth and will sell a full line of
                                     needles.









Seminar #3

Helen Snow will demonstrate the tattoo style (coil machine) method of tattooing eyebrows and
eyeliner.  You will not want to miss this opportunity to see how easy these procedures are to do
out of your own studio.  Scott Irwin will discuss and illustrate how he uses bold color in a variety of
beautiful familiar designs but with his added contemporary twist.  He’ll show how his thought
process and color theory create bold new beautiful tattoos.

Helen Snow started doing permanent makeup procedures in 1991,
                                  learning her technique from experienced tattoo artists.  Prior to that
                                  she supervised makeup applications and hair styles for a major fashion
                                  catalog.  She is a Board Certified teacher of permanent cosmetics and
                                  while training new people in the industry, she specializes in 3-day
                                  classes for the established tattoo artist.  She also uses the rotary pen,
                                  digital and hand tool methods and owns Permanent Cosmetic Center of
                                  Scottsdale.  





Seminar #4

Elli Edgar and Heather Hamel will discuss transforming makeup into permanent makeup for
your clients.  Elli comes from a tattoo background and will tell how easy it is to provide permanent
makeup out of a tattoo studio.  She designed her own Handtool needles which she will be selling
in her booth.  Heather comes from the model/photography industry and will explain how to assist
your client with their makeup color and designs.  She will apply lash extensions in the booth by
appointment.

Presenters

                                  Elli owns
Painted Ladies in Phoenix, Arizona. She began her career
                                  apprenticing for over a year with award-winning tattoo artist Dale
                                  Orman.  She has worked in Hollywood in costuming and makeup.  
                                  While doing permanent makeup in a tattoo studio she also worked for
                                  plastic surgeons helping cancer and accident survivors regain self-
                                  image.  She specializes in camouflage and areola restoration.  Elli
                                  prefers the result of hand-tool infusion to apply makeup above the neck;
she uses a machine from the neck down.  She is president of the Permanent Makeup Society of
Arizona and contributes her time and skills to “Women Living Free” and “BreastAid.”  

Heather owns
Club 42 Permanent Cosmetics in Phoenix, Arizona.  She and Elli often teach
together and have patented a permanent blush applicator.  She began her permanent makeup
tattooing career in 1999 and gives advance classes in makeup, camouflage, and areola
restoration.  She applies and trains for the Fabulous 3D Lashes (lash extensions).  She is also a
board member of PMS of Arizona and heads the Legislation division.  They will be performing
procedures in their booth, as well as selling Edgar’s Hand Tools, Sun Pigments and Fabulous 3-D
Lash Extensions.
